Amazfit Bip U Review – Health Fitness Smartwatch

Amazfit

As with the majority of Huami (the parent company that owns Amazfit) devices, the Bip U runs on their custom operating system and doesn’t support third-party apps like MyFitnessPal. Instead, you’ll be relying on the accompanying app (now called Zepp) to get most of its features.

This is not a bad thing in itself, as the app offers a clean, simple design and works very well. The app will let you access the vast majority of your fitness data, as well as control many functions from your device such as changing watch faces or editing workouts. You can also use the app to customize alerts, view notifications and more.

The device is water resistant up to 50 meters and comes equipped with a PPG optical heart rate sensor, SpO2 blood oxygen monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. The combination of these sensors allows you to track swimming, running and cycling activities, as well as indoor tracking. The device also includes a ‘Find My Phone’ feature, remote music control, weather forecast and a stopwatch.

You can also use the device to track sleep and stress levels as well as workouts, which is nice to see. The Amazfit Bip Pro does add built-in GPS and Alexa voice support to the formula, but if you don’t need these extras then the standard Bip U is still a very good option.
